On September 15th we welcomed the annual visit from the District Governor of District 5810 Max Duplant. She is a most enthusiastic person who reminded us that she has been in training for her position for two and one half years. For those of you who know her she has been a very active Rotarian for several years including serving as president of two clubs in our district.
In her remarks she gave an overview of the current projects in which RI is involved and an optimistic report on polio eradication in Pakistan and Afganistan. Membership decline and growth continues to be a major consideration. Max has set a goal of an additional one member to District 5810. While that may seem quite low the district lost 27 net members in the last Rotary year. I'm sure we can help our club and the district in new Rotarians
Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family of Eric Zehner and to Sue Casey in the untimely death of Past President Ben.
