On February 12th Jeremy Mahugh, vice president of Deliver Fund, spoke to the club about a scourge that frequently operates in public but is still too often not recognized. Human trafficking is a world-wide problem but is especially prevalent in Texas with 300,000 victims according to research conducted by The University of Texas. Sex trafficking is the largest element of human trafficking but it can also be found among unskilled laborers, most of whom do not speak English.

Deliver Fund personell are mostly retired military that have been involved in covert actions. Their experience makes them particularly adept at ferreting out conspiratorial enterprises. They work daily with federal, state and local law enforces identifying ringleaders and helping to collect evidence for criminal prosecutions. Two shocking statistics- most of the women victimized in human trafficking are Americans and secondly that many are as young as 12 to 14 years old when recruited.
